Show Information
The 2008 Space Coast Post Card Club's Annual Space Coast Post Card Show is Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Indian River City Civic Center located at 4220 S. Hopkins Ave. in Titusville at the corner of Knox-McRae and Hopkins, one block west of US 1. Admission is $3 for over 12; under 12 free; with an advertisement or publicity about our show, including printing this page out, you get $1 off admission.
We will have dealers from all over the state (and one or two from out of state) and we will have thousands of post cards available for purchase. If you have your grandma's post cards and would like to get them evaluated (not appraised) by one of our members, and recommendations given to find more info, please come to the Show and bring your cards. Remember, most cards — even the really old ones in perfect condition — are worth between $2 and $12, so they don't all have value except in the memories and associations they bring to us. Some, though have a higher price (alligator border cards) and some (like an original Alphonse Mucha in excellent condition), could bring thousands. So don't throw them out just because you assume they are not worth much. Even a card that is worth only $2 because it's just a generic greeting card ("Thinking of you!", or something similar) can be valuable if the message on the back is from someone famous, has a record of certain historical events, etc.
We welcome everyone to come and see what post card collecting is about and to ask any questions you may have. Who knows? Maybe once you get your answers, you'll want to collect post cards, too!
